Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. About the service
Brimley (brimley.uk) provides a free professional website and business tools for UK tradespeople. The service includes a public profile, portfolio, quoting, invoicing, project tracking, and AI-generated case studies.
2. Eligibility
To use Brimley, you must be at least 18 years old and a UK-based tradesperson or trade business. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Your account
One person or business may hold one account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Free and Pro tiers
Brimley offers a Free tier and a Pro tier. The Free tier is a genuinely useful service — it is not a limited demo.
- Free:professional website, quoting, invoicing, portfolio, AI case studies, unlimited photos. Emails include "via Brimley" branding. "Powered by Brimley" appears in your website footer.
- Pro (£24/month): all Free features plus white-label branding (no Brimley branding), SMS notifications to clients, lead capture form on your profile, and priority case study generation.
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time and your account will revert to Free at the end of the billing period.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload illegal, offensive, or misleading content
- Post fake reviews or manipulate the review system in any way
- Use the platform to send spam or unsolicited communications
- Attempt to access other users' data or interfere with the service
- Misrepresent your qualifications, certifications, or trade credentials
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. Content ownership
You retain ownership of all content you upload to Brimley, including photos, descriptions, and business information. By using the service, you grant Brimley a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display your content on the platform for the purpose of providing the service — including your public profile, portfolio, and SEO-indexed case study pages.
This licence ends when you delete the content or terminate your account.
7. AI-generated content
Brimley uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate case studies from your project data, including job type, location, your notes, and photos. AI-generated case studies are published under your profile.
You can edit or delete any AI-generated content at any time. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before it is published on your profile. Brimley does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated text.
8. Quotes and invoices
Quotes and invoices created through Brimley are documents — they are not payment processing. Brimley does not handle, process, or intermediate any payments between you and your clients. Payment arrangements are solely between you and your client.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep Brimley available at all times, but we provide the service on a best-effort basis. There is no guaranteed uptime or service level agreement, particularly on the Free tier. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. You can delete your account from your settings page.
- On termination, your public profile and portfolio will be taken offline immediately
- Your data will be available for export for 30 days after termination
- After 30 days, your data will be permanently deleted
We may also terminate or suspend your account if you breach these terms.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Brimley's total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the service is limited to the total fees you have paid to Brimley in the 12 months preceding the claim. For Free tier users, this means our liability is limited to £0.
Brimley is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
